Menzer Repeats as Scholar All-American

NORFOLK, Va. – Ursinus College men's swimming rising junior Jacob Menzer put himself in uncharted historical waters by being named honorable mention selection to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team.

Menzer is an honorable mention Scholar All-American for the second straight season, becoming the first men's swimmer in college history to earn that distinction in multiple years. The CSCAA awards Scholar All-America status to swimmers who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and registered a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier. The CSCAA awards first-team laurels to those who compete at the NCAA Championships.

Marcus Wagner '17 and Christian Hoops' 16 also merited honorable mention Scholar All-America certificates in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Already one of the most accomplished men's swimmers in Ursinus history, Menzer scripted a strong second campaign with three medals at the Centennial Conference championship. He repeated as runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle, breaking his own school record with a B-cut mark of 4:33.69. Menzer also won bronze medals in the 1650 free and as a member of the 800 free relay grouping; he placed fourth in the 200 free.
