Swimming Trio Posts PR's at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus College swimming teams sent a trio of athletes to Swarthmore College on Saturday, each of whom took advantage of the opportunity to accomplish new personal bests.

Freshman Matthew Buccella moved into 10th all-time in Ursinus men's swimming history with a 55.04 in the 100-yard butterfly. He also notched a new individual standard in the 100 free (49.94) and clocked a time of 22.80 in the 50 free.

Sophomore Brett Korn shattered his previous PR in the 100 back, touching the wall in 57.09 to shave almost two seconds off his former benchmark and post the second-best time in the event by a Bear this season. He also notched a new PR in the 200 back, where his 2:03.48 was almost six seconds faster than his previous season best, and in the 50 free (22.99).

Freshman Madison McHugh finished the 50 free in 25.87 seconds and the 100 free in 56.42 seconds, both good for PR's.
