COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Four members of the Ursinus College swimming teams were named Scholar All-American Honorable Mention by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Wednesday afternoon.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.
In addition, both the men's and the women's teams were named as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester. The men's and women's team were recognized as a Scholar All-America team in the fall.
Named from the men's team was Christian Hoops (Phoenixville, Pa./Great Valley).
Hoops was an Honorable Mention selection by the Centennial Conference after he finished second in the 200 yard butterfly at the 2015 Centennial Conference Championships with a time of 1:53.62, which was a NCAA B Cut time.
