Men's Soccer Blanked by Bullets

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - A second-half surge by host Gettysburg relegated the Ursinus College men's soccer team to a 3-0 defeat in Saturday night's Centennial Conference opener.

Gettysburg (3-1-1, 1-0) had the better of the first half, but Tyler Lewin and the Bears' back line held firm. The Bullets escaped the scoreless stalemate in the 53rd minute, when Nur Adhikarie put in a header off a rebound.

The go-ahead goal opened the floodgates for the Bullets, who tacked on markers in the 58th and 76th minutes to put the contest to bed.

Ursinus (3-3, 0-1) upped the pressure after halftime, forcing three saves from the Gettysburg keeper, but was unable to breach the Bullets' defenses. Kevin Devlin and Aidan O'Malley each put both of their shots on frame.

Tyler Lewin registered five saves between the pipes.

The Bears break from conference play to host Bryn Athyn on Tuesday.
