Lewin Lands CC Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – After backing the Ursinus College men's soccer team to a convincing season-opening shutout, sophomore goalkeeper Tyler Lewin was named Centennial Conference player of the week.

Lewin finished with five saves in his debut as the Bears cruised to a 5-0 victory over Albright on Saturday, their first win in an opener since 2016. Ursinus equaled its highest goal total and largest margin of victory since defeating Gwynedd Mercy by the same score line in 2012.

Lewin registered three saves in the first half and two more in the second to preserve the clean sheet. His most difficult stop came five minutes into the contest, when he was forced to leap to his right to snag a hard shot that was ticketed for the upper left corner.

Lewin and the Bears are back in action tonight at Arcadia. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
