Molyneaux Brothers Combine to Power Men's Soccer Past Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – The Brothers Molyneaux lifted the Ursinus College men's soccer team on Wednesday night at Wilkes, both Justin and Ryan finding the back of the net in the Bears' 2-0 non-conference victory.

Justin Molyneaux tallied the first goal of his career late in the first half, and Ryan Molyneaux joined his younger sibling with an unassisted strike in the second stanza for Ursinus (4-6), which racked up a season-high 25 shots and snapped a three-game skid. Making his second start of the year, sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Lillian finished with four saves for his first career shutout, and the Bears added a team save to make the clean sheet hold up and score their first road win of the season.

Ryan Molyneaux led all players with seven shots for Ursinus, which notched its highest shot total since putting up 26 at Immaculata in 2013. The strike was his second of the season, tying him for the team lead, and the 11th of his career.

Junior Kyle Woulfe and sophomore Ben Amaral collected four shots each and freshman Tim Yarosh added three for the Bears, who improved to 4-2 in non-conference matches.

Tim Gallagher posted six saves between the pipes for the Colonels (3-8).

The men's soccer team welcomes Johns Hopkins to Patterson Field for a Centennial Conference clash on Saturday, October 8. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
