Men's Soccer pitches a shutout over Immaculata, 2-0

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa - Junior Forward Dean DerSimonian scored his first goal of the season in a  2-0 shutout against Immaculata Wednesday night at Patterson Field.

The Ursinus men's soccer team improves to 2-3-1 before moving into Centennial Conference action.    

The Bears have outscored their opponents 7-1 over the past two games.

In the first half the game began with a defensive struggle between both teams, with the first shot coming from the Bears in the 22nd minute.  Moments later Wyatt Powell broke the silence with a goal in the 25th minute. The ballwas crossed into the middle from Ryan Molyneaux with Powell placing it to the post.

After the first goal, in the 28th minute a fast break on a long pass from Noah Kimelheim sent down the middle of the field was trapped by Dersimonian and shot past the keeper for Ursinus second goal.

Going into halftime Ursinus dominated defensively not allowing a shot for the entire half.

In a physical second half the Bears outshot the Mighty Macs 9-4 but neither team could find the back of the net.

Ursinus opens Centennial Conference play against Gettysburg Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field.
