COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's soccer team dropped their home debut on Saturday to Misericordia by a 3-1 score.
Ursinus got a goal with just 42 seconds remaining as sophomore forward Ricky Griffith (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) scored the Bears lone goal on an assist from sophomore midfielder Nick DeSpirito (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood).
Misericordia started the game by scoring 10:45 in as junior midfielder Andy Bush scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder Nick Ferguson. In the 31st minute, senior midfielder Matt Scott scored unassisted.
The Cougars (2-0) then scored in the 53rd minute as freshman midfielder Chris Panagacos scored on an assist from junior defender Greg Korhonen.
For Ursinus, senior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) made 11 saves on the afternoon, while junior goalkeeper Dan Fritz made three saves for Misericordia.
The Bears travel to Immaculata on Wednesday.
