Men's Lax Breaks into Top-10

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Ursinus College men's lacrosse team made another big jump in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Coaches Poll, moving up three spots for the second straight week to No. 9 in the latest set of national rankings.

The Bears, who began the year at No. 15, have vaulted three slots in each of the last two weeks to crack the top-10 for the first time in 2020. Ursinus moved to 2-0 with a 15-10 victory over Mary Washington on Saturday, getting a combined nine goals and nine assists from Bobby McClure and Hakan Atillasoy.

Ursinus also takes over as the highest-ranked Centennial Conference squad after Gettysburg dropped two spots to No. 12 following a 10-5 loss to top-ranked Salisbury over the weekend. Dickinson elevated to No. 15, while Franklin & Marshall dropped four positions to No. 19.

Stevenson, Ursinus' season-opening foe who fell out of the top-20 after the Bears' 13-12 victory, surged back into the poll at No. 16 thanks to a road upset of then-No. 6 York (Pa.). The Bears' Saturday opponent – Christopher Newport – held firm at No. 20.
