Shevitz Secures CC Weekly Award

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College men's lacrosse goalkeeper Elliott Shevitz has been chosen as the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Shevitz was a brick wall in Friday's 10-7 victory at McDaniel, leading the Bears to their first conference win with a career-high 22 saves. That total is tied for the fourth-highest single-game number in program history and matches the most stops by an Ursinus keeper since 2009.

Shevitz made six saves in three different quarters, including during the opening period as Ursinus built a 3-1 lead. Along with a strong performance from his close defense and midfield corps, Shevitz helped hold the Green Terror scoreless on six extra-man opportunities. He is the first Ursinus men's lacrosse player to garner the conference's weekly defensive award since Brian Neff in 2016.

The men's lacrosse team plays host to 11th-ranked Franklin & Marshall for a Senior Day showdown on Saturday.
