Men's Lacrosse Tabbed 6th in First Set of Regional Rankings

NCAA Regional Rankings

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's lacrosse team checked in at No. 6 in the South Region as the NCAA released its first set of regional rankings Wednesday.

Ursinus (10-2, 4-1 CC) is one of five Centennial Conference teams that garnered regional recognition, a field led by second-ranked Gettysburg, which has won seven games in a row and tops the league standings at 5-0. After the Bears came Franklin & Marshall (12), Dickinson (14), and Haverford (18).

Undefeated Salisbury – the top-ranked team in Division III – is No. 1 in the South Region. The Sea Gulls are succeeded in the top 10 by Gettysburg, Denison, Stevenson, York (Pa.), Ursinus, Cabrini, Ohio Wesleyan, Roanoke, and Washington and Lee.

Ursinus is 3-1 against regionally ranked competition this season, with victories over Franklin & Marshall, Dickinson, and Elizabethtown (No. 19) to offset a loss to Gettysburg. The Bears are ranked 18th in the USILA/Nike Division III Coaches Poll.

The men's lacrosse team heads to Allentown for a CC contest at Muhlenberg on Saturday, April 23.
