Men's Lacrosse drops 8-3 decision to second-ranked Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. – Second-ranked Dickinson scored the final three goals of the game on Saturday as the Red Devils (9-0, 2-0 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (5-3, 0-3 Centennial) 8-3 in men's lacrosse action.

Ursinus led early as sophomore midfielder Ian Moore (Fair Haven, N.J/Rumson-Fair Haven) scored the first goal of the game 1:17 in, before Dickinson got two goals from Brian Cannon to take a 2-1 lead after the first period.

After goals from Rob Kendall and Tyler White in the second quarter gave the Red Devils a 4-1 lead, Ursinus scored with one second left in the first half as Moore assisted on a goal from sophomore midfielder Jake Weber (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township).

Ursinus added one more goal in the third as freshman attack Steve Mussoline (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Adam Spangenberg (Downingtown, Pa./Malvern Prep) with 3:45 left.

Freshman goalkeeper Brian Neff (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) made 20 saves on the afternoon for the Bears as he faced 52 shots.

Individually, senior long stick midfielder Wytch Rigger (Decatur, Ga./Decatur) grabbed three ground balls. Freshman James Fairchild was 4-for-13 on faceoffs.

Ursinus will host York on Wednesday.
