Men's Golf Opens CC CHampionships

HERSHEY, PA. - Jordan Pick opened day one of the Centennial Conference Championships with a 10-over 80 while pacing the Ursinus College men's golf team at the Hershey Country Club. The Bears currently sit in 7th place after totaling a team tally of 334 (+54).  

The three-day tournament will continue over the weekend as the course is a par-70 course that stretches over 6.212 yards. 

Pick currently sits in a tie for 23rd overall and will look to make a move tomorrow up the leaderboard. The junior struggled through the first four holes but made birdies on the par-5 sixth and the par-3 eighth to finish the front nine with a 40 (+35). On the back nine, he was able to earn par on three holes while collecting a birdie on hole 17 to finish with a 40 as well.  

Sophomore Billy Cardino signed for a 9-over 82 as his day was highlighted by six pars and a birdie on the par-3 second hole. Cardino started his front nine with a 38 (+3) and is currently in 29th place. 

Teammate Evan Coffey is currently three shots behind Cardino after finishing his round with an 85 (+15). Coffey opened his round with back-to-back pars before finishing the front nine six over and is tied for 31st overall.  

Seniors Peyton Vostenak (87) and Luke Godzieba (93) rounded out the Bears five competitors and currently sit in 34th and 35th place respectively. Vostenak day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole while Godzieba battled throughout the afternoon finishing with five pars.  

As a team so far, the Bears have collected five birdies and have shot an average of 3.68 on the par-threes. Ursinus currently sits just four shots behind Muhlenberg and will look to make up ground tomorrow for day two of the CC Championships.
