Pick Powers Men's Golf at Williamsport

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Jordan Pick finished in third place and Ryan Hodgdon joined him in the top-10 of the overall standings to help the Ursinus College men's golf team tie for second place at the Williamsport C.C. Collegiate on Monday afternoon.

The Bears compiled a 315, five strokes back of Penn State-Berks and even with Susqehanna. It was the team's lowest single-round score since the F&M Invitational last October.

Pick was terrific on the 6,276-yard track, only posting one score above bogey in a consistently excellent effort that saw him shoot 3-over 73. Pick made three birdies on the front nine – on the par-4 fourth, fifth, and ninth holes – and finished with seven pars on the back. The rookie finished one shot out of second and five behind individual medalist Devin Peart of Susquehanna.

Hodgdon turned in another strong round, tying for ninth overall with a 79. He made birdie on the sixth and ninth holes and tallied a par on eight straight holes (10-17).

Kyle Quagliero tied for 15th with an 81, posting birdie on the sixth and 18th – both par-5s – in addition to eight pars.

Brian Barrett recorded a season-best 84 with birdies on the fifth and 18th holes, carding a 5-over 39 on the back nine.

T.J. Stanton had a trio of birdies (the 1st, 16th, and 18th holes) and three pars on the way to an 89, while Kai Toomey had four pars in a solid back nine that resulted in a 91.

Daniel Schlitt finished with a 96, with a birdie on the sixth and a par on the seventh.

The men's golf team continues its fall campaign at the Eastern Invitational on October 9.
