Men's Golf 7th After Day 2 of CC Championship

MACUNGIE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team remained in seventh place at the conclusion of the second round of the Centennial Conference championship.

The Bears finished up Friday's suspended first round with a 342 before tallying a 359 in the second round at Brookside Country Club. At 701, they are 26 strokes back of Muhlenberg in sixth.

Junior Ryan Hodgdon leads Ursinus in 26th place in the individual standings after a two-day 170 (84-86). He completed the first round with an 84, including a birdie on the par-five 4th, then shot 4-over 39 on the back nine to salvage an 86 in the second round. Hodgdon birdied the par-three 5th and added five pars without a double bogey on holes 10-18.

Freshman Kyle Quagliero ended two shots back of Hodgdon with a 172. The rookie fired an 85 in the first round and an 87 in the second, which featured a birdie on the par-five 4th hole and five pars on the back nine.

Junior Brian Barrett shot an 85 in Round 1, a steady effort dotted with nine pars and a birdie on the par-five 2nd, before coming back with an 89 in Round 2.

Junior Daniel Schlitt finished with a 99 in the second round after an opening 86 on Friday, while classmate Jack Bagnell matched him with a 99 on the back of a 90 in the first round.

The Bears conclude their season with the third round of the championship on Sunday.
