LITITZ, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team equaled its lowest score in two years on Monday at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
On the course for the third time in as many days, the Bears finished in eighth place with a 311, matching its best team total since the Eastern Invitational in the fall of 2016. It was one stroke better than the 312 they put together in the second round of the Revolutionary Collegiate Classic the day before.
Franklin & Marshall's White squad set the standard with a 284 at the par-71 Bent Creek Country Club.
Junior Brian Barrett was the low man for Ursinus for the second round in a row. After firing a career-best 72 less than 24 hours prior, Barrett came back with a 74 – the second-best tally of his collegiate career – to finish in a tie for 14th among a field of 89 golfers.
Freshman Kyle Quagliero tied for 21st overall with a 4-over 75, giving the Bears a pair of players shooting 75 or below for the second consecutive competition. Five of the rookie's first six collegiate rounds have ended with a card of 76 or better.
Junior Ryan Hodgdon signed for an 80, and freshman Rob Moore was one stroke off his personal best with an 82.
Senior Bennett Collins carded a season-best 85 to round out the Bears' contingent.
The men's golf team continues its fall campaign at the Biondi Memorial at Glenmaura National this Saturday and Sunday.
