Men's Golf Scores Season Best at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team put together its best score of the season on Monday, finishing in seventh place at the Muhlenberg Invitational.

The Bears' team tally of 319 was one stroke better than their performance at the opening Swarthmore Invitational. It was spurred on by a pair of top-10 finishers in junior Ryan Hodgon and freshman Kyle Quagliero, who carded matching 76's.

Hodgon handled the par-3s at Lehigh Country Club with ease, making birdie on the 4th and 15th. He went over par on just six holes, and just one on the back nine.

Quagliero birdied the 4th hole and the par-4 14th, tacking on 10 pars and owning at least a share of the team's top individual score for the third straight tournament.

Freshman Rob Moore logged the best score of his young career with an 81, good for a tie for 36th place. The rookie was consistent throughout the afternoon, totaling 40 on the front nine and 41 on the back, with eight pars to his credit.

Junior Brian Barrett shot 86 for the Bears, and freshman Daniel Schlitt was right behind with an 87 that included a birdie on the par-4 18th hole.

The golf team hosts the annual Revolutionary Collegiate Classic on October 13 and 14.
