Men's Golf 7th After Day 2 of CC Championship

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team finds itself in seventh place after Round 2 of the Centennial Conference championship at The Bridges Golf Club.

The Bears finished with a team score of 345 (+57) on Saturday, giving them a two-day total of 681 for the tournament. Ursinus will head into Sunday's third and final round 11 strokes behind Dickinson for sixth.

Two-time defending champion Franklin & Marshall took over the top spot in the team standings (610) and will take a three-shot lead over McDaniel ad Swarthmore (613) into Sunday. Gettysburg (621) is fourth, followed by Muhlenberg (629), Dickinson (670), and Ursinus (681).

Swarthmore's Vamsi Damerla tops the individual leaderboard with a 150 (75-75), two strokes in front of McDaniel's Brian Norwitz (74-78—152). F&M's Dan Furman and Steve Colodny join McDaniel's Tim LaSarso just three shots behind Damerla. Twenty-two golfers are within nine strokes of the individual lead with 18 holes remaining.

Freshman Bennett Collins and senior Matthew Holmes led Ursinus with matching 85s, and sophomore Ryan Crawford carded an 87. Sophomore Lamar Saxon shot an 88, and junior Anthony Barbine carded a 90.

Saxon tops the Bear contingent with a two-round 166 (78-88), good for a tie for 26th overall, and Collins sits at 168 (83-85).

Ursinus wraps up the 2015-16 season with the third and final round, which tees off at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
