Men's Golf Second at Home Invitational

ELVERSON, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's golf team played its home match in unfamiliar territory on Tuesday, taking on the Old Course at Stonewall Golf Club and five other teams in the Ursinus Spring Invitational. Battling a challenging course, the Bears turned in a team score of 351, good for a runner-up finish.

Cabrini tallied the top three individual scores en route to an impressive 315 and the team title, followed by Ursinus, Arcadia (358), Widener (365), Keystone (375), and Cairn (395).

The Cavaliers' Joe Myers fired a 3-over 73 to outdistance teammates David Gallll (77) and Clay Anders (80) for the individual crown.

Sophomore Lamar Saxon was the Bears' top scorer for the third straight tournament. He shot an 84 to tie for fifth on the 6384-yard layout, collecting eight pars (five on the front nine).

Junior Anthony Barbine and sophomore Ryan Crawford each scored an 86 to tie for 10th, while freshman Noah Steiner carded a 94 (T-16th) playing as an individual. Rookie Bennett Collins had a 95.

Barbine had two pars and a birdie on the par-3 17th on the back nine, carding a 40 on the second half of the course. Crawford tallied five pars and 10 bogeys.

The Bears now set their sights on the Centennial Conference championship, set to take over Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania from April 22-24.
