Men's Basketball Puts 5 on NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Recent graduates Bruce Edwards, George Gordon, and Lucas Olshevski joined rising seniors Matt McMahon and Peyton Vostenak on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, while the men's basketball program received a Team Academic Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive season.

The Team Academic Excellence Award is reserved for programs with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better. The Bears achieved a 3.22 team GPA for the 2020-21 academic year.

Edwards, Gordon, and Olshevski are all two-time recipients of Honors Court recognition, which rewards juniors and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better at the end of the academic year. McMahon and Vostenak helped pushed Ursinus' final Honors Court tally to five, its best since producing six in 2009. All five are business and economics majors.

Edwards started every game during the 2019-20 campaign, averaging 7.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

Gordon was coming off a breakout season in which he posted career highs of 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds.

Olshevski produced 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 22 appearances.

Vostenak has scored 51 points in 25 career contests, while McMahon tallied 28 points in 15 games in his first season with the program.

All five of Ursinus' Honors Court nominees have been named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll every semester in which they have been eligible.
