McTamney Named Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Ryan McTamney came away from the Messiah Tip-off Tournament with a major milestone and another honor in tow as the Ursinus College men's basketball captain was named Centennial Conference player of the week.

McTamney averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 51.7% from the field in a 1-1 effort for the Bears at their second tournament in as many weekends. McTamney posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in a 54-50 loss to No. 24 Randolph-Macon, then went off for 21 second-half points on the way to a game-high 27 as Ursinus routed Clarks Summit, 92-62. In the process, McTamney became the 29th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points.

McTamney is off to a sensational start in his senior campaign. He is averaging a team-leading 18.8 points and shooting a robust 60.4 percent from the field while also ranking second on the squad at 6.8 rebounds per contest.
