Men's Basketball stops Haverford, 87-78

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus senior guard Pat Vasturia lit up the night for 20 points, while senior guard Jesse Krasna had 17 points as the Bears (3-15, 1-10 Centennial) defeated Haverford (6-10, 2-9 Centennial) 87-78 snapping a long losing streak Tuesday night in men's hoops action.

Ursinus led by as much as 17 in the second half and shot 54 percent on the night in netting their first Centennial Conference win of the season.

Sophomore guard Trevor Norton scored 13 with sophomore guard Malik Draper netting 11.

Haverford was led by senior forward Brett Cohen's game high 22 points while freshman guard Matt Sherman and senior guard Louis Cipriano each had 11.

Ursinus trailed by five early in the first half, before taking the lead for good at 22-21 with 9:57 left on a pair of foul shots by freshman guard John Kanas.

In the final 3:48 of the first half, Ursinus outscored the Fords 11-2 to take a 43-30 lead into intermission.

In the second half, the lead dipped no lower than seven as Ursinus got the win.

Ursinus held a 35-30 lead on the glass, with Norton and sophomore guard Mark Wonderling each picking up six.
