Men's Basketball falls to Gettysburg, 90-76

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Leading by one at halftime, Gettysburg outscored Ursinus by 13 points in the second half as the Bullets (5-7, 3-2 Centennial) defeated the Bears (2-10, 0-5 Centennial) 90-76 on Tuesday night in men's basketball action.

Ursinus was led by 21 points from senior guard/forward Ryan Adams on 8-for-12 shooting, with senior guard Pat Vasturia knocking down 15 points off of the bench as the Bears did shoot 51 percent from the field in the contest.

Sophomore guard Trevor Norton scored 11, with fellow sophomore guard Malik Draper going for ten in the loss.

Sango Amolo scored a game-high 28 points for Gettysburg, one of four starters to reach double figures. Forward Connor Poston had 17 points for the Bullets.

Ursinus held an eight-point lead in the first half at 23-15 on a three-pointer by senior guard Jesse Krasna with 10:40 left. A 10-2 run by the Bullets tied the score with 7:12 left, before Ursinus got six straight points to go back up 31-25 with 5:54 left.

Gettysburg would eventually retake the lead and go up six at 41-35 with 2:14 left in the half before a three-pointer by Norton and a layup by sophomore guard Mark Wonderling put Ursinus within one at 41-40 at intermission.

After Adams made a foul shot just seconds into the second half to tie the score at 41 all, Gettysburg outscored the Bears 12-3 over the next five minutes to pull away.

Both teams took care of the ball, as Ursinus had only nine turnovers while the Bullets had seven. Wonderling grabbed seven rebounds for the Bears.

Ursinus hosts defending Centennial Conference champion Dickinson on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
