Men's Basketball fends off Johns Hopkins, 58-50

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Senior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and junior guard Ryan Adams (White Plains, N.Y./The Hun School) each scored 13 points as Ursinus (9-14, 7-9 Centennial) kept its playoff hopes alive with a 58-50 win over Johns Hopkins (15-8, 11-5 Centennial) Saturday afternoon in men's basketball play.

Ward picked up ten rebounds as well as Ursinus won its second straight game. The Bears owned the glass 41-36. 

For Johns Hopkins, George Bugarinovic scored 16 points and added in ten rebounds, while Adam Spengler scored ten.

Ursinus took the lead for good on a three-pointer by junior point guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) with 5:07 left making the score 49-46. Ursinus held Hopkins without a field goal in the last 3:31 of the game, as Hopkins got no closer than two points. 

The Blue Jays led by as much as eight points in the first half, but, suffered from behind the three-point line as Hopkins went 1-for-18.

Ursinus will host Washington College on Wednesday.
