DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Hamilton (7-5) went on a short 5-0 in the final 43 seconds of the game on its way to a 85-77 win over Ursinus (5-7) Sunday afternoon at the Land of Magic Classic hosted by Embry-Riddle.
Ursinus was led by freshman guard Malik Draper (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Area) who had a game-high 25 points on 8-for-13 shooting. Senior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had 17 points, with senior forward Kevin Janowski (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) scoring 16 points.
Junior guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss, as Ursinus had a 44-35 lead on the boards.
Ursinus led early, as Draper made two foul shots with 16:42 left in the half for an 11-4 Bears lead. After Hamilton grabbed the lead, Ursinus fought back and again took a five point lead at 23-18 when Draper made two more foul shots with 8:06 left.
Trailing by five at halftime, Ursinus got back in the lead with 17:19 left at 43-42 when Ward made two foul shots.
Ursinus last held the lead at 61-60 on a jumper by junior guard Ryan Adams (White Plains, N.Y./The Hun School) with 10:17 left.
