Men's Basketball downs Eastern, 93-77

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus College freshman guard Malik Draper (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) scored a game-high 24 points as the Bears (5-5) defeated Eastern (2-9) 93-77 on Wednesday night.

Draper was one of four Bears in double figures, with senior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) scoring 21 points as Ursinus led by as much as 23 points and withstood a second-half Eagle rally that put Eastern within seven.

Junior point guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) scored 15 points and had four assists, while freshman guard Mark Wonderling (Lederach, Pa./Souderton Area) had 11 points.

Junior guard Ryan Adams (White Plains, N.Y./Hun School) had a strong defensive game as he pulled down 13 rebounds and had four blocked shots.

Eastern, who trailed 57-34 at halftime, was led by junior forward Jimmie Wills who had 20 points, while senior forward Tyler Stowers had 14 points.

The Bears shot well in the game, as they finished 33-for-57 from the field at 57.9 percent.

The Bears will take on Cortland State after Christmas at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach.
