Men's Basketball falls to Dickinson, 80-75

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson's Gerry Wixted scored a game-high 31 points as the Red Devils (6-2, 4-1 Centennial) survived a late Ursinus (4-5, 3-2 Centennial) rally with an 80-75 win in men's basketball action on Saturday.

Dickinson, who led by 15 at halftime, finished the game perfect from the foul line converting on all 27 attempts. Chris Barsanti added in 14, and Tucker Landy scored ten.

For Ursinus, senior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) scored 17, with freshman guard Malik Draper (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Area) netting 15. Junior point guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) scored 11.

Ursinus had an early lead at 9-4 on a layup by senior forward Kevin Janowski (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) with 17:06 left in the game. From there Dickinson went on a 9-0 lead to take the lead for good.

The Bears, down 13 with just over five minutes to go, got to within three on a pair of foul shots with 1:07 to go from Draper. Trailing by one with 15 seconds left, Ursinus was unable to get a shot off in the final seconds.

Dickinson had a 35-34 lead on the glass, with Wixted grabbing seven. Ward had eight for the Bears.

Ursinus will be off until December 19, when they host Eastern.
