Men's Basketball snaps home skid with win over Haverford, 74-65

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's basketball team (4-4, 3-1 CC) defeated the Fords of Haverford College (3-4, 2-2 CC) in Centennial Conference play Wednesday evening at Helfferich Hall by a score of 74-65, snapping a two-game home losing streak.

The Bears were led by junior guard Jesse Krasna (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury) who had 21 points and five rebounds in the effort.  Senior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) scored 17 and grabbed nine rebounds in the win.

Freshman guard Malik Draper (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) continued his hot start, scoring 13 points.

For the Fords, senior guard Cam Baker led the way with 25 points and ten rebounds.  Sophomore guard Lucas Colombo netted 14 on the evening while junior guard Louis Cipriano contributed 13.

Ursinus trailed by 12-6 with 14:37 remaining in the first half, before going on a 23-6 run over the next 11:37 to go up 11 with three minutes remaining in the opening period.  The Bears would head into the intermission up by a score of 31-20.

The Fords opened up the second period of action on a 6-0 run, but would never come closer than five for the rest of the contest. Ursinus led by as much as 17 points in the second half with 14 minutes to go.

Ursinus held a 39-32 lead on the glass, with junior guard Ryan Adams (White Plains, N.Y./The Hun School) grabbing eight in addition to Ward's nine.

The Bears are in action again Saturday as they visit the Red Devils of Dickinson College.  Tip-off is set for 2:00 P.M.
