COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Ursinus gave eighth-ranked Franklin & Marshall everything it could muster on Wednesday night, before the Diplomats (19-1, 12-1 Centennial) clawed their way to a 63-54 win over the Bears (7-13, 6-7 Centennial). 

Ursinus led at intermission by a 34-31 score and led by eight (39-31) with 16:24 to play before F&M went on a 14-0 run to go up 45-39 with 9:14 left and never looked back. 

Ursinus could only get to within three the rest of the way.

The Bears were led by 17 points from junior forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and 11 from sophomore guard Pat Vasturia (Medford, N.J./Bishop Eustace).

Freshman guard Trey Harry (Baltimore, Md./The Hill School) had a strong game off the bench, scoring eight. Freshman forward Jermaine Kamara (Cork, Ireland) had ten rebounds to lead both sides.

For the Diplomats, senior guard Georgio Milligan had a game-high 19 points with sophomore guard Jon Salandra scoring 17.

Ursinus trailed by as much as eight in the first half, before going on a 10-1 to take a 22-20 lead with 5:30 left on a jumper by Ward. A three pointer by Krasna with five seconds left gave the Bears its 34-31 lead.

Ursinus hosts Gettysburg on Saturday.
