COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall got a game-high 20 points from junior forward James McNally as the 15th-ranked Diplomats (17-3, 11-2 Centennial) handed Ursinus (13-7, 9-4 Centennial) a 70-62 loss Wednesday night in men's basketball play.

The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Bears, while the Diplomats moved two games up on Ursinus for the top spot in the league with five games remaining.

Senior guard Anthony Brooks had 19 points, while sophomore guard Georgian Milligan added in 15 points for the Diplomats.

For Ursinus, senior guard Remy Cousart (Philadelphia, Pa./Holy Ghost) had a team-high 16 points while junior guard Matt Hilton (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown Area) added in 13. Freshman forward Jon Ward (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) scored 12 and grabbed a game-best eight rebounds in the loss.

F&M took advantage of 21 Ursinus turnovers, piling up 14 steals and 24 points off of turnovers.

F&M darted out to a 10-2 lead with 15:49 to go in the first on a jumper by McNally. Ursinus would rally to within two at 10-8 at 14:45 on a three-pointer by senior guard Kevin McGarvey (Lower Gwynedd, Pa./Penn Charter).

The closest Ursinus came to tying the score came with 10:57 left in the first as Hilton made a layup to make the score 13-12 in favor of the Diplomats.

Trailing 17-15, Ursinus saw F&M out score them 8-0 to go up ten at 25-15 on a dunk by Brooks. Ursinus would get to within six at 29-23 at intermission.

In the second half, Ursinus made a late charge but would only get as close at three points with four minutes to go on a three-pointer by Cousart.

Ursinus trailed 66-62 with 30 seconds left on a three-pointer by Hilton, but, Brooks made four foul shots down the stretch for the win.

Ursinus had a slim 34-33 lead on the glass, and will go to Gettysburg on Saturday.
