COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus senior guard Remy Cousart
(Philadelphia, Pa./Holy Ghost) poured in a game-high 15
points and grabbed a game-high ten rebounds as the Bears (11-6, 7-3
Centennial) swept the season series from Dickinson (0-15, 0-10
Centennial) 58-47 on Saturday afternoon in men's basketball
play.
Junior guard Matt Hilton (Lewistown, Pa./Lewistown
Area) had ten points as the Bears are now a half-game back
of second place after Swarthmore upset Gettysburg.
For Dickinson, junior guard Chris Harrington had 12 points, while
freshman guard Chris Barsanti had eight.
Ursinus allowed its lowest point total of the season, and held
Dickinson to just 33.3 percent (16-for-48) shooting from the floor.
The Red Devils were also 1-for-10 from the three-point line in the
second half.
For Ursinus, freshman forward Jon Ward (Allentown,
Pa./Parkland) and freshman forward Kevin Janowski
(New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) each had eight points.
Janowski also grabbed seven rebounds as Ursinus held a 35-32 edge
in rebounding.
Cousart is now just ten assists away from 500 for his career, and
54 points away from the 1,000 point mark.
The Bears darted out an 8-0 lead 2:44 in as Hilton and freshman
guard Matt Donahue (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity)
each had three points. Dickinson responded back, tied the score at
8-all on a layup by freshman guard Obi Ollawa.
Ursinus went back up five at 13-8 on a three-pointer by senior
guard Keith Page (Manchester, England/Blair
Academy) with 12:58 left, only to see Dickinson come back
and take a 17-15 lead with 9:30 left on a foul shot by freshman
forward Doug Jakiela.
Ursinus would outscore Dickinson 18-6 the rest of the half and
never looked back. Leading 33-23 at intermission, Ursinus led by as
much as 15 the rest of the way.
Ursinus will host Washington on Wednesday in a key Centennial
Conference matchup. The two teams, who are separated by a game in
the standings, have not played this season to date.
