DeLorme Earns Second-Straight NCGA East Region All-Around Gymnast of the Week Honor

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – For the second-straight week, Ursinus Gymnastics Junior Alyssa DeLorme was honored as the East Region All-Around Gymnast of the Week by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA), the organization announced Monday.

 

 

DeLorme had another dazzling all-around performance on Sunday afternoon in a dual meet against West Chester as she registered a career-best all-around score of 38.425.  It was the second-straight meet that DeLorme set a new all-around personal best as she topped her previous mark of 38.275 against Penn one week ago. DeLorme's score was highlighted by setting a new school record on the bars with a 9.8. She bested the previous program record mark of 9.775 set in 2015 and finished first overall among the two teams. DeLorme also tallied a personal-best of 9.750 on the floor while completing her day with scores of 9.350 on the vault and 9.575 on the balance beam.

 

 

Ursinus recorded a total team score over 188 for the second-straight meet with an overall tally of 188.250 behind season-high event scores of 47.300 on the bars and 47.050 on the beam. The Bears also registered scores of 46.750 and 47.150 on the floor to complete a strong performance against the Golden Rams.

 

 

The Bears return to action on Sunday, March 6th as they will compete against New Hampshire, West Chester, and Temple for a Quad Meet at the Owls McGonigle Hall at 4:30 p.m.
