COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team saved its best for last.

After honoring Matisen O'Brien and Lindsay Rush on Senior Day, the Bears went out and secured a season high with a team total of 186.825 during Saturday's home finale against West Chester. Ursinus registered new standards on the floor (47.375) and uneven bars (46.025) to pick up valuable momentum heading into the NCGA East Regional championship.

The seniors certainly had their shine, each grabbing a 9.500 and 9.425 in their respective events, but it was freshman Kaylin Knapsack who produced some of the top performances of the afternoon. The rookie placed second with a 9.700 on the floor and finished tied with sophomore Skylar Haas for fourth thanks to a 9.600 on the balance beam. Both marked new personal records for Knapsack, who had not been in the Ursinus lineup for a month.

Knapsack's dazzling floor exercise was only one of several impressive routines for the Bears. Sophomore Hailey DiCicco continued a string of strong efforts with a 9.550, while O'Brien fell just short of her season high with an even 9.500. Haas was also excellent in the rotation, scoring a 9.450, and sophomore Autumn Snape's 9.175 rounded out a prolific all-around tally.

Haas and Knapsack were sensational on the balance beam, posting matching scores of 9.600 to land in a tie for fourth overall. O'Brien's 9.425 was good for eighth and sophomore Alex Lacey netted a season-best 9.150.

Rush was electric on the uneven bars, shattering her previous best score with a 9.500. Freshman Emma Gable matched her individual record with a 9.375, and sophomore Daniele Terrenzio also crushed her personal record with a strong 9.350. DiCicco had an even 9.000 to give Ursinus four gymnasts with at least that score.

As she has all season, Rush was the team's premier performer on the vault with a 9.425 in the final regular-season meet of her career; the senior co-captain placed third overall in the event. Junior Breanna Couts and Terrenzio backed up Rush with new season highs of 9.350 to tie for fourth, and Gable recorded a 9.275.
