COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College gymnastics team hosted a tri-meet with Ithaca College and Temple University Sunday, placing third with a score of 180.350. Temple placed first with a score of 185.975 while Ithaca placed second with a score of 183.125.
On the vault, the Bears were led by freshman Kristin Aichele (Upper Black Eddy, PA/Palisades High School) with a score of 9.5. Junior Stephanie Schmidt (Bloomingdale, NJ/Butler) was second on the team with a 9.25 while senior Katherine Gelinne (Westfield, NJ/Mount Saint Mary's), freshman Riley Acton (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough Regional High), and sophomore Monica Durham (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville High School) all scored 9.15 for the Bears. Rounding out the scoring was freshman Danika Dellano (Winthrop, MA/Winthrop High School), who scored an 8.9.
On the bars, Ursinus was lead by Durham, who netted a 8.925. Second was Acton an 8.85, junior Katlyn Lawver (Newmanstown, PA/Eastern Lebanon Co.) with an 8.35, freshman Jamie Hammel (West Milford, NJ/West Milford High) 8.275. Rounding out the scoring was junior Erica Schnebel (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) with an 8.2 and freshman Adelaide Hurlbert (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) with a 5.95.
On the Beam, the Bears were lead by Schmidt who recorded a score of 9.275. Her performance was followed by Durham's 9.15, Gelinne's 9.05, and senior Danielle Michielli (Claymont, DE/Concord) recorded a 9.025. Sophomore Megan Bolash (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks High School South) recorded an 8.9 while Aichele rounded out the scoring with an 8.05.
In the floor exercise, Ursinus was lead by Schmidt, who posted a 9.40 for her routine. Hurlbert and Gelinne both posted 9.275 while Durham posted a 9.074. Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was senior Andrea DeToro (Howell, NJ/Monsignor Donavan), who scored an 8.975 on the floor.
