Field Hockey locks up number two seed with win over Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Senior forward Devin Brakel (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro North) scored two goals, while senior midfielder Megan Keenan (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) added a goal and an assist as the Bears (15-3, 9-1 Centennial) locked up the number two seed in the upcoming playoffs with a 4-0 win over Muhlenberg (11-5, 7-3 Centennial) Friday night.

Brakel scored in the 27th and 56th minutes for the Bears, who will be the number two seed in the upcoming playoffs next weekend at F&M.

Keenan scored in the 16th minute for her 17th goal of the season for an early 1-0 lead. At 26:25, Brakel scored on a rebound for a 2-0 Ursinus lead.

At 55:52, Brakel would score on an assist from senior Danielle Stong for a 3-0 lead, with junior defender Ann Kopera (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) scoring at 65:02 on an assist from Keenan for a 4-0 lead.

Senior goalkeeper Danielle DeSpirito (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) made three saves in the win.

Ursinus will wait its opponent in the 2-3 game next Saturday afternoon at F&M in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference playoffs.
