Clutch Cherneskie Chosen as CC POTW

LANCASTER, Pa. – Following his game-winning heroics in Saturday's thriller at Franklin & Marshall, senior kicker Kirk Cherneskie was named Centennial Conference special teams player of the week.

Cherneskie was clutch as can be in helping the Bears rally from 17-0 deficit, shaking off two attempted icing attempts to boot home a career-long 38-yard field goal with one second left and send Ursinus to a 27-24 victory.

The field goal polished off a career afternoon for the senior in his first year as a kicker. Cherneskie made a pair of 38-yard field goals to double his season total from the first seven games of the season. He also made all three of his extra points for a career-high nine points.

Cherneskie's honor gives Ursinus back-to-back special teams players of the week after freshman punter Mike Reilly garnered the award last time.
