Ragland, Reilly Reap Weekly Rewards

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College football team continued to reap the rewards of Saturday's 30-14 victory at McDaniel as sophomore running back Samuel Ragland and freshman defensive back Mike Reilly claimed Centennial Conference weekly awards.

Ragland was chosen as the league's offensive player of the week honoree, and Reilly grabbed special teams player of the week.

The CC's offensive player of the week for the second time, Ragland went over 100 yards rushing and receiving against the Green Terror, adding 244 yards to his conference-leading all-purpose total. The sophomore sensation carried 27 times for 113 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 104 yards and two scores.

Ragland, who added 27 yards on two kick returns, has already tied the third-highest single-season total in school history with 11 rushing touchdowns. He has registered over 100 receiving yards and 200 all-purpose yards in three consecutive games.

Reilly was a force in two phases. The freshman scored his first career touchdown on a 52-yard fake punt to open the scoring in the first quarter, and averaged 41.0 yards a kick in his first action as the Bears' starting punter; that total included a 68-yard boot that he placed out of bounds at the Green Terror 4-yard line. Reilly also had his first interception and returned it 31 yards to set up a touchdown.

Ursinus (5-3, 4-3) continues its season on Saturday at Franklin & Marshall in a clash with major Centennial/MAC Bowl Series implications.
