Murphy, Griffith Earn All-Centennial Conference Honors.

2022 All-CC Team

LANCASTER, PA. - A pair of standout Ursinus College baseball student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding seasons with spots on the All-Centennial Conference team.  

Juniors Casey Murphy and Solomon Griffith both were tabbed first team all-conference selections by the conference on Thursday morning. 

Murphy, a junior from Merion Station, broke out this season to a tune of a 4-4 record and a 2.97 ERA, third best among qualified pitchers in the Centennial Conference, over ten starts. His 58 strikeouts and 60.2 innings pitched both ranked 6th in the conference, while he led the conference in complete games with two. Murphy was named CC pitcher of the week on April 19th, after pitching seven innings and striking out ten batters in a 9-2 victory over Muhlenberg on April 12th.  

Griffith, a junior from Ocean City, New Jersey was the Bears' best hitter this spring, leading the team in batting average (.357), hits (51), runs (26), triples (2), stolen bases (15), and slugging percentage (.510). He hit two homeruns this season and ranked second on the team with 20 RBI's. Griffith played in every game this season for the Bears and over the final 15 games he reached base via a base hit in 14 of them. An on-base machine, the right-hander reached base safely in each of the last 18 games.  

Senior Liam Geib was named to the All-Sportsmanship team. Geib appeared in 20 games this season while collecting three RBI's.
