Mumme Nabs Second All-America Nod

ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-America Teams

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Alex Mumme capped his monumental 2019 Ursinus College baseball campaign with a second team nod on the ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-America team, announced Thursday evening by the American Baseball Coaches Association following the opening ceremonies of the College World Series.

Mumme joins Zeb Engle (2009) as the only players in school history to earn All-America honors from the ABCA, which selects its highest awards from the pool of first team all-region performers. The slugging right fielder had already been named a first team All-American by D3baseball.com, first team all-region by both the ABCA and D3baseball.com, and the Centennial Conference player of the year.

Mumme took his place as one of the nation's most dangerous hitters with a dominant season that saw him break program records for doubles (21), home runs (14), RBI (45), runs (60), and slugging percentage (.844). He topped the CC in runs, doubles, RBI, and total bases.

A three-time All-CC choice and two-time first teamer, Mumme owns school records in home runs (26) and doubles (54) and ranks third in RBI (103), fourth in runs (120) and batting average (.397), and fifth in hits (158).
