COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Alex Mumme's record-breaking campaign with the Ursinus College baseball team received one of the highest honors in the land when the junior was chosen as a first team All-American by D3baseball.com.

Mumme occupied one of three outfielder slots on the first team, joining Josh Goulet of Plymouth State and Bret Williams of Penn State Harrisburg. He becomes the second D3baseball.com All-American in program history, standing alongside 2009 honoree Zeb Engle.

Later Tuesday afternoon, Mumme was also named first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). He joins Rich Barett (2001) and Zeb Engle (2009) as Bears to be chosen first team all-region by the ABCA.

Already having collected Centennial Conference player of the year and first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region accolades, Mumme takes his place atop the elite offensive stars in the storied history of Ursinus baseball. The junior turned in a singularly prolific season in 2019, batting .422 with school records in doubles (21), home runs (14), RBI (45), runs (60), and slugging percentage (.844). Mumme led the conference in runs, doubles, RBI, and total bases and still ranks among the nation's top-10 in slugging, home runs, and runs scored.

A three-time all-league performer, Mumme is the first player in program history to earn first team all-region and first team All-America certificates. With another season still remaining on his ledger, he already holds school records in home runs (26) and doubles (54).
