Mumme Named CC Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – After a sizzling start in southern California, Ursinus College baseball's Alex Mumme has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week.

Mumme hit a robust .481 (13-for-27) with a home run and nine RBI during the Bears' seven-game swing through the Golden State to open the season. The sophomore slugger scored five runs, stole a base, and registered a 1.237 OPS (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage).

Mumme, who set a program record for doubles a year ago, finished 8-for-9 with a homer and seven RBI in a doubleheader at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps; he posted four hits in back-to-back games for the first time in his career.

A first-time weekly award winner, Mumme will look to continue his torrid pace when Ursinus visits Immaculata for a non-conference clash on Wednesday.
