Freshman
Geetika Bhatia won her first Centennial Conference singles match as the Muhlenberg women's tennis team fell to Ursinus.
Â
The Bears won the first eight matches, but the Mules saved their best match for last. Bhatia persevered after going down 2-1 early, eventually pulling ahead 4-3. She then won four of the final five games to win her pro set match, 8-4.
Â
The Mules started playing tough against Ursinus, taking at least four games in each of the three doubles matches. The duo of junior
Shelby Knafo and freshman
Jessica Sommer played the closest match, falling 8-6 at third doubles. The no. 1 doubles pairing of senior
Hannah Molk and junior
Meghan Olsen won five games in their match.
Â
Molk also put forth a great battle in her no. 1 singles match. After dropping the first set 6-4, Molk battled from behind to take her second set 6-3 and force a supertiebreaker. The senior held an early 4-3 advantage in the tiebreaker but ultimately fell behind her Ursinus opponent and could not recover in a 10-8 defeat.
