Coach Jerry Thompson is in his fifth season as an assistant coach to the Ursinus College softball team.

His most recent coaching stint came as the coach of Lower Merion’s Freshman Softball team. Not only did Coach Thompson instruct the players on the field, but also tracked academic progress and eligibility.

His most recent college coaching experience came as the Head Coach at Rosemont College, with a stop at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.  

Coach Thompson was the recipient of outstanding volunteer service awards for founding/coordinating of the Annual Softball Marathon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Coach Thompson holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Drexel University and a M.S. in Educational Leadership from St. Joes and is currently working as a high school administrator in Upper Dublin School District.

He is also a volunteer coach for Pottsgrove Little League baseball and Lower Pottsgrove Athletic Association basketball.

He lives in Pottstown with his wife Michelle and three sons, James, Jeremy and Jack.
