Gerry Shatzer is in his 14th year as an assistant track and field coach for the men’s and women’s track and field programs. He works directly with developing the javelin throwers.

Over the past 13 years, Shatzer’s athletes have placed an impressive 35 times in the top three at the Centennial Conference Outdoor Championship. At the 2021 Outdoor Championship, Evan Giannetti (194-4) and Izzy Deal (136-6) took home gold in the Javelin competition. Both athletes qualified for the Outdoor NCAA Championship. Deal finished 8th overall and was named All American.

An avid competitor in his own right, Shatzer competes in the javelin as a member of Philadelphia Masters Track and Field. A graduate of West Chester University, Shatzer is the President of Gerry Shatzer Sports Sales and Lance Sports.
