Tim Litz was named Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Operations, External Initiatives, and Game-Day Experience in the summer of 2018, following 15 years as an athletic director at Friends Select School.

Litz is tasked with a variety of operations and game-day initiatives, including enhancing the game-day experience for students, working with the Conferences and Special Events (CASE) office to schedule and prep for summer camps, preparing fields for athletic contests, and coordinating student workers for game-day coverage.

Litz left Friends Select after a tenure that began in 2003 as assistant athletic director. He took over as athletic director in 2006 and was in that post until 2014 before spending the last four years as associate AD.

In his roles at Friends Select, Litz was responsible for the overall administration and management of a comprehensive middle and upper school interscholastic athletic program. He was charged with managing and maintaining the budget, providing daily operations management for all athletic programs, and developing long-range strategic planning for the school. Litz also collaborated with school administration to provide a philosophical direction for the athletic program, implemented a formal evaluation process for all coaches as well as a new athletic handbook, and also maintained the athletics website.

Litz coordinated a number of fundraising efforts for the Friends Select athletic department and was instrumental in helping the school gain acceptance into the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). Litz, who also served as the physical education department chair from 2003 to 2008 and as the wrestling commissioner of the Friends School League, coached middle school soccer (2001-2003), middle school wrestling (2001-02), varsity wrestling (2003-05), and middle school baseball (2001-02) during his time at Friends Select and has served as varsity baseball coach since 2003. 

Litz earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from West Chester University in 1997 and returned to West Chester in 2002 for a master’s in athletic administration. He currently resides in Havertown.
