Konstanzer, McClure, McTamney Receive Ehret Prize

Lydia Konstanzer (women's basketball), Bobby McClure (men's lacrosse), and Ryan McTamney (men's basketball) have been chosen as recipients of the Ehret Prize.

The Ehret Prize is awarded annually to a senior (or seniors) who have excelled in athletics.

Konstanzer will graduate as the most decorated player in Ursinus women's basketball history. She is a four-time All-Centennial Conference performer, including first-team laurels her final two years, and is the only two-time All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection in the program's history. Konstanzer was the Centennial Conference and Mid-Atlantic rookie of the year in 2017, and finished second on the school's all-time charts with 1,624 points and 956 rebounds.

Konstanzer holds the all-time record for double-doubles and averaged one this past season, one of only two players in the conference to do so and finishing 11th in Division III with 16 of them. She was a force from the moment she set foot on campus, averaging 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a freshman and leaving with career per-game averages of 15.8 points and 9.3 rebounds. This season, she marked new career highs in both categories, pairing 17.1 points with 10.1 boards. Konstanzer was a four-time Centennial Conference player of the week.

Konstanzer is also a standout student, owning a 3.64 cumulative grade-point average and posting a perfect 4.0 during the fall semester. Majoring in Biology with a minor in biostatistics, she is a member of the Brownback-Anders Pre-Health Society and Beta Beta Beta National Honors Society. Konstanzer is a resident advisor on campus and volunteers at Living Branches Nursing Home as well as being actively involved with the Shooting Stars program.

McClure is the most prolific offensive player in Ursinus men's lacrosse history, leaving with all-time records for goals (131) and points (205) despite having the second half of his senior season cut short. Through the first seven games of the 2020 campaign, McClure was leading the Centennial Conference with 19 assists, good for ninth in Division III, and was 13th in the nation with 34 points.

McClure turned in the best season ever by a Bear attack in 2019, setting single-season records with 59 goals and 81 points and leading Ursinus to its first Centennial Conference championship. He received All-America honorable mention from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) as a junior and collected All-America honorable mention from Inside Lacrosse this spring.

After a promising end to his rookie campaign, McTamney went on to become one of the men's basketball team's most effective weapons over his final three. He scored over 1,250 points after his freshman year, ultimately climbing to eighth on the program's all-time charts with 1,380, and was the Centennial's second-leading scorer in both his junior and senior seasons. He became an effective rebounder during those years, eventually ranking fourth in the conference at 6.8 boards per contest this winter.

A second team All-CC selection in 2019 and 2020 and a two-time CC player of the week, McTamney helped lead the Bears to three consecutive appearances in the conference semifinals. He was the only senior on a young 2020 squad, serving as captain and providing invaluable leadership.

McTamney owns a 3.36 GPA as a Health & Exercise Physiology major.
