Complete Silver Anniversary Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – Three of the most successful student-athletes in Ursinus College men's track and field history were chosen to the Centennial Conference Silver Anniversary team for indoor track and field.

The Centennial Conference is celebrating 25 years as one of the elite small college athletic conferences in the country with the announcement of its Silver Anniversary teams, highlighting the best of the best over our first quarter-century. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a graduate of the institution and be one of the following:

  • 3-time or 4-time first team All-CC performer
  • 2-time CC Player of the Year
  • 1st team All-America AND 2-time first team All-CC performer
  • 2-time All-America (1st, 2nd, or 3rd team)

The Bears who received Silver Anniversary team recognition are: Brandon Evans (2008), Matt Granteed (2008), and Chris Rountree (2013).

Brandon Evans is one of the most decorated track stars in school history. The owner of 15 conference titles, Evans was named the CC's Most Outstanding Track Performer at the 2007 indoor championship. The sensational sprinter won three indoor golds in the 55-yard dash and 200-yard dash, and holds program records in the indoor 55, 200, and 4x200-meter relay.

A two-sport standout, Evans was a second team All-CC wide receiver in football as a senior. He caught 38 passes for 676 yards and five touchdowns in three seasons on the gridiron.

Matt Granteed was a five-time conference champion, winning three consecutive indoor crowns in the 55-meter hurdles to highlight his tremendous career. Granteed, who also captured an outdoor gold in the 110 hurdles, was part of the victorious 4x200 relay squad at that season's indoor championship, which still holds the school record for the event.

Chris Rountree, already a member of the CC's Silver Anniversary Team for football, is perhaps the most successful multi-sport athlete in Ursinus history. He was named Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2011 and 2013 indoor championships. Rountree was a four-time indoor gold medalist, winning the triple jump twice in addition to the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles. He owns program records in the 55 and 60 hurdles.
