Softball junior ace Jennifer Hammons tossed two shutouts in the week for the Bears. Hammons allowed just one run on nine hits across 16 excellent innings, compiling a microscopic 0.44 ERA and 2-0 record.
Hammons began the week by starting both ends of a doubleheader split at Franklin & Marshall, firing a four-hit shutout with four strikeouts as Ursinus posted a 12-0 run-rule victory in the opener. She started the nightcap, allowing one run on two hits in four innings.
On Saturday, Hammons kicked off Ursinus' first sweep of Gettysburg in eight years with a three-hit shutout during which she struck out seven batters.
